BOB'S WORK ON CITY COUNCIL

• As Mayor in 2020 and 2021 guided a steady response to the Covid-19 pandemic protecting the health of our residents and helping local businesses to recover

• Improved 911 response by establishing an in-house ambulance program run by the Fire Department

• Improved public safety with added police, fire, paramedic, marine safety, and mental health services.


• Initiated and guided the implementation of recommendations in the Wildfire Mitigation and Fire Safety Report to reduce wildfire risk throughout the City


• Negotiated the transfer of South Laguna beaches from the County to the City to provide local control

• Initiated the purchase of St. Catherine’s School adding needed space for recreation and community serving programs


• Supported funding to establish the City’s first Climate Action and Adaptation Plan


• Expanded City funding for affordable housing and supported creation of a Housing Trust Fund and Community Land Trust


• Led the effort to create the City’s first comprehensive Parking and Traffic Demand Management Plan


• Led the effort to place Measure LL on the ballot increasing the hotel bed tax and raising millions to fund critical public safety programs.
